The minor hurlers picked up their first win of the year in Division 2 on Sunday morning as they overcame a good St Brigids side by a single point. Playing against the breeze in the first half the team battled well with Jamie McDonnell hitting 1-1 from play in the opening half along with free taker Cormac O'Toole keeping the scoreboard ticking over with 3 first half points. Brigids led 1-7 to 1-5 at the break. TD started the second half well with jack Landers and Stephen O'Toole leading from the half backline and Ben Rogers pulling of some excellent saves in goal. Jamie Mc Donnell then hit his second goal of the game after a mistake by the brigids goalie, a second yellow was followed and brigids were reduced to 14 men for the remaining 15 minutes. Lucca Gigilone and Paul Kennedy began to attack at pace and TD began to take control but brigids fought back with some outstanding points from play from one of their midfielders who was influential throughout. Martin Clayton who was introduced as a second half sub and late on he sealed the win for TD with a flick of his hurl from a highball into the box and Td snatched a 1 point win. Overall a great team display. Well done lads.
