Covid-19 Club update   22/10/2020

Important covid-19 update sent on behalf of the executive committee.

As the country moves to Level 5 Covid status tomorrow, the club has confirmed that non contact  training for academy and school age kids can and will continue during the Level 5 lockdown. Participation in sport for these age groups is considered to benefit children’s general well-being and we are delighted to support that objective.

In the light of the restrictions and in view of fading light, a revised training time table will be released this weekend to apply from Tuesday 27th. Group training activities for adult teams is not permitted under Level 5 and as such all adult group training sessions planned for the coming weeks have been cancelled. The club gym and sport hall

will also remain closed.

We are developing a programme of activities to provide additional supports to all members and teams during lockdown. The club will post details of these on our Facebook page in the coming days.

In the meantime, we request that all parents and players take note of the additional precautionary measures that are being applied during all training sessions for the foreseeeable future: These include:-

- please adhere to advice from Coaches and designated Covid Supervisors at all times;

- parents and guardians are strongly advised to stay in their cars during training sessions rather than enter the training area where feasible;

- where this isn’t possible, parents and guardians are requested to observe 2m social distancing requirements rigidly and will be required to wear facemasks at all times;

- All of our Club Coaches are also required to wear facemasks at all times during Level 5;

- please avail of hand sanitizer on all occasions on entering and leaving the designated training areas;

- finally, all parents and guardians are requested to avoid congregating in groups at any stage and, in particular, to avoid congregating on arrival and on departing the training sessions

We are delighted that we are in a position to enable the kids to partake in active non contact sports during a difficult time for all. Your cooperation in the above will help ensure a safe environment for everyone involved.

Finally, we would remind all members and parents that the club will be continuing our takeaway and delivery service from Thursday through Sunday during lockdown. This service provides valuable lifeblood to the Club during these challenging times and so we would request your support for this initiative. Details of our extensive menu options are available at
