Well done to the senior hurlers who made in 4/4 tonight in AHL2 with a good victory over Castleknock on a fine evening on Kiltipper rd.
Both sides were evenly matched throughout the early stages of the game as both traded points with Davy Keogh (0-2) and Liam Sinnot (0-3) hitting 0-5 from play between them in the first 20 minutes. Full forward Sean Reilly latched onto the sliotar after a highball in coming up to HT to put 4 points between the teams at the break leaving it 2-10 to 0-12.
Castleknock started the second half well as they clawed back the lead as they hit 2 goals in quick concession. TD responded well as midfield pairing Eanna O’Toole and Anthony Barret began to dominate the middle with Eanna setting up Davy Byrne (1-1) for a well dispatched goal midway through along with a couple of well taken points from Bryan Keogh (0-4) and Kev Ward (0-7 5f). The impressive trio of Adam Waddick (0-3), Luke Dempsey (0-3) and Davy Keogh (0-2) finished very strongly as all finished off well worked team scores as Sean Reilly and Eoin Lambert provided possession with some excellent high fielding in the second half.
Final score Thomas Davis 2-23 Castleknock 2-17
Next up is Setanta on Wed 1st in Ballymun.
